GenXX & GenXY

Chatting about life partners and all the stuff and sundry with my ever reliable friend l~, we reached this question about what she would want from her future[god bless him!] hubby. And she said the following…

[her]: that might even include a HIVtest too
[me] : way to go!!!! ^:)^
[her]: dont b shocked i want that n i want it 2 b made legal
[me] : i actually thing it shud be made a legislation for all…and anyone who doesnt want to can go to hell

Now since we have the view points in place, the deeper(and usually extremely useless) questions follow next.

Why/How would one want to marry someone if they dont trust each other(to not to have HIV infection), I mean starting your life together without trusting each other, needing proofs and stuff, when actually what is needed is implicit trust and understanding? Does that make marriage a contract, or just a genetic permutations and combinations, just finding the right mate?

Pray me, where was that myticism lost? 😛

*And dont you dare flame me about triviliasing about something as serious as HIV*

  1. Umm…how does trust come into the HIV test pic? You can’t really ‘trust’ a person to be HIV free, since there is no 100% safe contraceptive. That angle apart, what about instances of people contracting HIV in blood donation camps? Has happened…

dont deny either of them tg. but wont it finally boil down to trust, a level of paranoia, where extra care is taken for screening out all such cases? i know it doesnt make much sense but somewhere my question boils down, isnt staying monogamous a better solution? as regards the blood donation thing, its unfortunate, but cant deny the necessity of certs in such cases.
i know, it doesnt make much sense now, but maybe in future ill try get a more coherent argument in place.

as they say, only the paranoid survive.
cant contest that. but tell me, would you stop driving for the doubt of being run over? not that both are same at face value….
